Posted: 04-23-2007 Location: Sacramento Position Title: Mental Health Counselor Program: Children and Adult 1. Assumes responsibility for client/family assessment and treatment plan including a written assessment completed within the prescribed time frame. 2. Assists clients and family/caregiver in understanding treatment and use of therapy. 3. Prepares detailed case histories, related correspondence, release, and reports. 4. Participates in staffing of cases. 5. Evaluates cleint's readiness for discharge. 6. Participates in agency coverage including release of information and crisis management. 7. Works collaboratively with colleagues, staff psychiatrists, and outside agencies. 8. Attends meetings, trainings in the agency, and represents the agency in the community as needed. 9. Participates in supervision on a regular basis. 10. Completes all required paperwork within the prescribed time frames. 11. Responsible for upholding legal and ethical mandates such as CPS, APS, and Tarasoff reports. 12. Provides therapy in the clinic, the home, or at the school. 13. Works collaboratively with schools and attends IEPs and Student Study Team meetings as requested. 14. Other duties as assigned. Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or mental health field; Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage Family Therapist, or intern registered with the Board of Behavioral Science.
